March Chamber Virtual Meeting - Chasing Happy: 6 Secrets for Creating Engagement in the Workplaces of Tomorrow!
Chasing Happy—6 Secrets for Creating Engagement in the Workplaces of Tomorrow!
Talent is quite possibly the most valuable resource to any organization. 2020 changed the paradigm for how many employers interact with, motivate, engage, and retain their teams. Seemingly in the blink of an eye, many if not all, engagement tools disappeared as teams began working from home and business demands changed. I want to show you how age-old concepts like trust, passion, growth, and celebration can be viewed in a different way to help your organization retain and engage your most valuable assets in the new normal. Learn how to run alongside your team instead of chasing them as they run out the door.
Chris Cano, Principal, JLH Leadership Solutions, will be the guest speaker at our March Chamber Virtual Meeting on Thursday, March 18th at 11:30am.
Chris has been a Hospitality Leader for more than 24 years, and has been a part of six major hospitality brands working in various facets of lodging including full service, luxury, casino, and timeshare. As a General Manager Chris has earned four property of the year distinctions and two General Manager of the Year awards in multiple companies. A strong focus on guest satisfaction, financial performance, and associate engagement has led to a focused approach to development. A passion for leadership development led Chris to being certified as an Executive Coach and Trainer, as well as a Certified DISC consultant.
Since returning to Ohio, Chris has been focused on not only continuing his hospitality career with the Marriott brands, but also helping small and mid-sized business in various industries grow to reach their potential through his consulting firm JLH Leadership solutions. This led Chris to writing the book If You Build It They Will Stay to help multi-generational workplaces thrive. His next book Chasing Happy takes a deeper dive into the practical steps needed to achieve engagement in an evolving workplace, and is due out in April, 2021. Chris graduated from Ohio University in 2002, and earned his MBA in 2019, and achieved his PMP certification in 2020. He is also a father, husband, triathlete, and ultra-marathoner.
